I'm looking at buying a few thousand dollars of silver to keep in my safe. Any advice? Thanks.

Try 10 ounce bars at Silvertowne. Generally buy as cheap as you can, stay away from "MS 70" graded coins and fancy designs.

I bought a few 10oz and 5oz bars from silvertowne. What is the reason to avoid the ms 70 graded coins?

Basically your paying more needlessly. At the end of the day an ounce of silver is an ounce of silver.

Thanks for the heads up on silvertowne. Getting it from there was cheaper than my bank around the corner. Even after factoring in shipping and exchange rate.
